House of Blues concert venue & restaurant
(September 15, 1997 - present)
History and photos of the House of Blues restaurant and concert venue in the West Side at Walt Disney World.
On September 15, 1997, the House of Blues restaurant and concert venue opened with the rest of the West Side expansion in Downtown Disney at Walt Disney World.
The House of Blues is a national restaurant chain composed of the Crossroads at House of Blues full-service restaurant, the Front Porch Bar, the House of Blues Music Hall concert venue, and of course, the House of Blues Company Store. In 2013, the House of Blues added The Smokehouse counter-service restaurant for those people looking for a lighter meal, or eating in a hurry.
The themes of the Mississippi Delta and blues music are alive and well at the House of Blues. From the old, decaying water tower to the scrap metal band artwork to the laid back atmosphere, you'd swear that you were back in the Deep South. Have no fear though because the beer is cold and plentiful, some of the top bands in the country perform in the Music Hall, and the southern and BBQ food at the Crossroads restaurant is fantastic.
|TIP||Check out the concert schedule and see if any of your favorite bands or comedians will be performing during your next vacation.|
|TRIVIA||"The Crossroads" is a reference to the intersection of Highways 49 and 61 in Clarksdale, Mississippi. It's at that spot where legendary blues musician Robert Johnson allegedly sold his soul to the Devil to become a successful musician.|
