Marketplace Co-Op store
(2014 - present)
History and photos of the Marketplace Co-Op collection of stores in the Marketplace at Downtown Disney at Walt Disney World.
Opening in 2014, the Marketplace Co-Op became one of the newest experiences for shoppers in the Marketplace at Downtown Disney. Instead of being a single store, the concept behind the Marketplace Co-Op is that it's a small collection of six stores, each with its own merchandise and theming, though there's definitely a Disney flair in the air. Although the stores are small, they do provide merchants with the opportunity of testing out concepts with the shoppers at Downtown Disney. It's envisioned that the Marketplace Co-Op will ultimately see a wide variety of experiences as the stores come and go and new ideas are presented.
In the 2014 version of the Marketplace Co-Op, the stores featured merchandise ranging from jewelry to sports memorabilia to vintage Disneyland items from the 1960s.
The Marketplace Co-Op is just one of the new experiences as Downtown Disney is slowly being converted into Disney Springs.
